We basically watched the old teal building known as Disney Quest as it was demolished over the last couple of weeks. Now Twitter user, @bioreconstruct shows us a look at the site where Disney Quest once stood. The land appears to be completely cleared as construction for a new attraction named “The NBA Experience” is set to begin soon.

The NBA Experience, which is slated to open in 2019, will immerse guests in many different aspects of the NBA. The new space will include interactive sports games and competitions, retails stores, and an NBA themed restaurant.

Many people voiced their opinions, both good and bad, about the closing of Disney Quest and the new attractions coming to Disney Springs. Some say the the attraction won’t fit in with the architectural theme Disney Springs has. Others praise Disney for their continued growth of the Disney Springs shopping area and surrounding areas.
Mitch’s Take: Listen, Disney clearly understands the implications of opening a land based on one of the most successful film franchises ever. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge brings a lot of excitement to the Disney Parks. With that no excitement, also comes many challenges. One that Disney seems to be tackling right now involves creating new attractions, like this one, that will draw guests to other portions of the resort. I think attractions like this demonstrate Disney’s continued commitment to creating world-class entertainment for all ages. Further more, while a majority of non-Disney vacationers believe that a Disney vacation is only for kids (you know that coworker who always asks why you like Disney so much), these types of attractions may interest a new group of people. It will be an interesting two year journey as we await all of the many new attractions appear all over resort property.
